Guu with Garlic

Guu with Garlic

Located in the corner of Robson and Bidwell, Guu with Garlic is on one of the busiest corner you could easily noticed along Robson street. I spent my first ever izakaya experience at Guu with Garlic few years ago and it was very memorable. Although there has been rapid growth in the izakaya community in downtown Vancouver, I am still a frequent diner at Guu with Garlic.. The consistency of the service and food are the reasons why this place has become one of my favourite izakayas in Vancouver.

Michelle: Hi Michelle! Both are great but totally different. Guu is izakaya type restaurant(casual) while Miku is high end Japanese restaurant(formal). I will recommend Guu if you never tried izakaya before. Miku specializing in aburi sushi.

Michelle: Good to hear you enjoy reading my blog =) Sure I will be more than happy to give you some recommendation. May I know where are you visiting from ? Do you have any preference on type of cuisine?

Hi I'm originally from HK! Saw that you've a few posts on HK restaurants too :) Was studying in New York for a few years, and just moved to San Francisco recently, so I'll be visiting Vancouver from there~

In terms of cuisine, I'm actually pretty open to anything that tastes good :) Since I'm traveling, I'd like to sample different varieties that are must-trys of Vancouver! Japanese food and seafood are definitely on the list :)
